Here's The Fastest Way To Send Us Your CAD Files

FTP (file transfer protocol) is the fastest, most reliable way to send large CAD files over the Internet. As a customer doing business with S&H, you can have your own secure, password protected folder on our FTP site.

This Web-based service will allow you to send your CAD data to us 24 X 7 without having to "snail mail" expensive Zip disks, e-mail easily corrupted attachments or mess with unstable CD writers.

*Note...Of course, you can always send your smaller CAD files to us as an e-mail attachment. E-mail those files to us here.

Follow These Steps To Send Us Your CAD Data

Our engineering software will allow us to work with all of the standard CAD formats in use today. However, experience has shown us that the following works well for us:

  • In your E-mail message please note what format your files are in ( .igs, .dxf, .stl, .dwg, etc )
  • If files are to be used for SLA modeling, be sure to save files in both surface.igs and.stl formats
  • If files are to be used for machining, we prefer to work with .igs, .dxf, and .dwg formats. IGES solid models and 3-D wireframes are a plus.
  • If files are for a sheet metal fabricated part, if possible please send both a "flat" file and a "folded" file in .igs, .dxf, or .dwg wireframe
  • Please note in your E-mail message which dimensions, surfaces, etc are critical if not specified on print

Here's How To Use Our FTP Site

Step 1. The first step in preparing your data for uploading is "zipping" your files. If you don't already have a zip / unzip program to handle this task, we recommend that you use WinZip. Go to this site to download the latest version of WinZip

Step 2. In order for you to be able to connect your computer to our FTP server you will need FTP software installed on your computer. If you need a reliable and easy-to-use FTP program, go to this site and download WS_FTP Pro now.

Step 3. Open your FTP program and do the following:

  • Contact S&H at 978-256-7231 for new FTP intructions

Once you've finished uploading, please notify us by phone or e-mail.
